I began to look at these two comapnies as I came across them through social media and youtube through Vice and Munchies. These two companies specialise in growing plant based produce with in micro farms, calling it distributed agriculture. The first one is called Smallhold which is mirofarming Mushrooms, the technology allows you to grow mushrroms anywhere the mini-farms create the climate for mushrooms to grow inside the chambers, so you can have your own mini farm anywhere. This is what I am talking of in my essay when I talk of the regress of Golbalisation and how technology can have a hand in it. This is based within New York and is the first and only organic farm within new york and the only mushroom farm. Is also links into my essay with businnes moving with the times and what the consumer wants by making the the produce as local and fresh as possible. The idea I had for this woud be to brand it for the UK as it is soley based within NY. Look into how companies brand products differently to deifferent dempgraphics. Bring the tech to the UK.
The second one is Farm Shelf which is a simialr idea to do with distributed agriculture but is more to do with leafy greens and herbs, in a on site installation.Our smart, hydroponic growing systems are both beautiful and functional. They evoke a space’s commitment to design, innovation and sustainability while providing meaningful produce yield in an automated, internet-connected device. Farmshelf transforms ordinary places into living, growing spaces. all links into essay as like Smallhold.
